Steven with his hero William Shatner aka Captain Kirk from Star Trek. What a fantastic picture. As you can see Euan is less impressed but I am sure Steven will having him growing up to be a trekkie.

I have not uploaded anything new onto here for awhile we have not done too much, as the weather has not been great. We had a really nice walk around Buntzen Lake which was lovely but very hard work. We took turns on the first half of the journey and then I had to carry him the whole way back as Steven sprained his ankle.

We have had a few nice days so we have went to the Coquitlam water park and the kids water park in Stanely park so that was fun and Euan seemed to enjoy himself.

Geese, Sand and soccer :)

enjoying digging in the sand

covering himself with sand

Its been a little while since I posted and although we have not been up too that much, we have been trying to get outside and have some fun. I am posting 2 pictures of Euan on the beach last week, it was very hot and we had lots of fun although the clean up was not particularly enjoyable. Euan had a good time with his digging tools, he preferred to use his hands most of the time, he built some sandcastles with daddy and enjoyed paddling at the side of the ocean.

Euan and his dad also had a fun outing at Burnaby Lake feeding the geese, a few of the geese got a little bit cheeky and took a few pecks from Euan's hand, and looked like it was doing a bit of following them around but they seemed to have a good time.

I bought a ball last week so we could have some fun at the park, but as you will see he has not quite got the hang of the game yet and at the moment he prefers to pick it up, carry it for a little while then throw it down, and at times he loses interest all together for a more interesting leaf or bit of grass. I am sure he will have the hang of it in no time at all.

Thats about it folks..stay tuned for another exciting episode..

Euan at the farm and out with Daddy at Rocky Point Park.

Euan and the goats

Euan and the rabbits

We had a nice weekend, as mentioned on Saturday we went to Stanley Park and parked in the usual spot at the totem poles, and had a little walk. On Sunday we went swimming which was fun, we need to go more often as it took Euan a little while to get used to the water again. After this we went to a farm on the North Shore called Maplewood, we saw lots of animals, Euan did not seem particularly interested in them yet, and was having more fun with the grass, flowers and dirt. I have posted some pictures and videos of the farm.

Since then I have been at work but Steven took him out walking today to Rocky Point Park in Port Moody, and it looks like they had a great time, there are some nice pictures and videos from today that I will post too.

Walking update for Gran & Grandpa

Hi folks,

We were out walking around Stanely park today, it was really warm and very pleasant by the water... just thought i would post a little video of Euan walking again its a wee bit different than last week. Its very exciting to watch him. He did have a major tantrum though when we were by the water but lets not mention that. I hope your all doing well and looking forward to skype-ing in the morning.

Steven's parents have bought a lap top and I am we are looking forward to being able to skype them too, that would be very nice.

Its almost teatime, Steven is making chicken curry for dinner and it smells delish, all 3 of us are going to have it.

I cant believe this is almost the end of Saturday, these weekends are sure going past very very quickly indeed.

Mum and Euan at the anthropology museum

Hi folks

Not been up to that much lately. I have been back at work for just over two weeks now and I am quite enjoying my new job. We have been out and about locally doing a few things nothing particularly exciting, walking round stanely park, buntzen and burnaby lakes. We went to Allouette dycks yesterday and today we went to the museum of anthropology it was quite good but obviously the wee chap was pretty bored and we got a few dis approving looks for taking a 13 month old to a museum.

ON the firsts of Euan... he had his first hair cut and he has started walking so that is all very exciting. I have a few pictures and videos to post so I hope you like them.

Euan trying to put something into the dvd player... the time previous to this he did actually put a dvd into the dvd player and then sat looking at the tv waiting for it to come on.

Euan Dancing to some of Steven,s music.

Euan is walking. He walks very well holding onto one hand but as soon as you let that hand go it is hit or miss whether he decides to keep walking or go onto his knees, it depends where we are i think too. Remember Mum you bought these brown shoes from Next and we thought they would not fit for ages (maybe close to the end of the year) well they fit now!!!! The little blue ones with the cars I thought i would try them last week and they were too wee, i thought they would not fit. The others are in the bin. As you will see from the video he is scuffing his feet so they are not lasting long. He has pretty big feet obviously.

Scotland, Euan's birthday parties, park visits, Olympic stuff and art projects

It has been quite some time since I posted anything onto this blog. I now have lots of videos and pictures that I want to upload so its going to take some time. We went home to Scotland in January which was great fun and it was fantastic to spend time with our families and I am missing them all so much. We had lots of fun, we went bowling, we went to Edinburgh and Glasgow a few times and we had a birthday party for the wee one which was so nice. It was a little early but we wanted the grandparents to share in the special day. The flights were good not half as bad as we had expected so that was a great bonus. We spent lots of time with our families and that was what we wanted to do. Euan loved being the centre of attention and he certainly felt it when we came back home, back to just Mum and Dad. Graeme came home from Switzerland too so it was a great vacation.. I bought far too many baby clothes and shoes but it was really hard not too.

The birthday party was lots of fun and it was mainly family from either side and some friends too but it was lovely, Euan received some really smashing gifts and really he was spoiled rotten. I have some videos and pictures from our time at home, visits to the Irwin house and videos from his birthday party too.

Since we came home its been a bit quiet... we have been to the park quite a bit as we have discovered that Euan now likes to go into the swing. He loves it... so there is some videos of him on the swing and on the see saw and also in the sand pit which was from todays visit.. i thought it was a good idea. He had lots of fun but I had to strip him off in the garage before coming into the house.. i discovered lots of sand inside his nappy so he needed a wash before nap time. Lots of sand also went into the mouth which is to be expected. I am sure he will be just fine.

There is some pictures and some videos of his first dabble with painting and he did a pretty good job with no help from mummy or daddy. I was a bit worried at first.. I had bought non toxic paints but as you will see when the paint is covering his face and it was inside his mouth i began to think it might be non toxic to skin but you might not be able to eat it... but all is well and we may have a budding Picasso on our hands, that talent will come from neither of us that is for certain.

As you know its currently the winter Olympics here in Vancouver so I have included some pics and videos of recent events that we have participated in, not going to see any sports but we have been in and around town, so its been quite fun, but I am looking forward to it ending so we can get back to normal.

It was Euan's actual birthday on Thursday 18th Feb and Steven was working so we went to meet him on his break at a mall nearby, we spent some time at a kiddies play area and then we had lunch and he had his first real taste of ice cream as a birthday treat.
He did not seem to like it due to the coldness but he certainly wanted more.

There are some videos from his 2nd birthday party which was on Sunday.. (I know what a spoiled little boy :) We had some friends round with there kids so that was lots of fun too.

We also went to a place called motoring munchkins which is like a gymnastics hall, as you all know Euan loves to bounce so there is a video of Euan on the trampoline with his daddy, he had lots of fun but Steven was knackered.

Lastly there is a final video of the little one walking this afternoon with his walker he had a great time.. and he seemed to be upset when he ran out of space. We will keep encouraging him with it, but this afternoon was the first time he walked with it so that was very exciting.. Steven and I were bouncing around with excitement and it ended with Euan having a late bath and bedtime.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year folks... hope you all had a good one. Ours as you can imagine was pretty quiet, we watched some tv after Euan had went to bed, managed to stay up till midnight and then went to sleep. I have not been up to that much since then, we have pretty much stayed indoors and relaxed alot. We are saving our energy for going home to Scotland. On New Years Day we went to the coquitlam centre because I decided I had to buy a pair of trousers for the plane and that was the most exciting thing to happen and today we went into downtown Vancouver for a little look... there seems to be a bit of an olympic fever going on down there. Lots of building, lots of tents being set up and lots of shops filled with Olympic clothing, some of it is very nice but its very very expensive.
